The KDL-40S5100 is Sony's lowest-priced 40" HDTV with full 1080p screen resolution. Compared to 720p screens, 1080p provides around twice the pixel count, for more detailed images. Basically the KDL-S5100 series comes in four sizes: 52-inch, 46-inch, 40-inch and 32-inch KDL-32S5100. All have basically identical features, but lack the 120Hz refresh rate with dejudder processing found on higher-end Sony HDTVs, starting with the KDL-V5100 series.
